Two candidates will face off for the seat vacated by Ashley Johnston on the Greene County Schools board of education.
Steve Fisher of rural Jefferson and Matt Wetrich of Jefferson filed nominating papers for the special election March 14. The winner will serve the remainder of Johnston’s term, which expires in September 2019.
