Rippey must be experiencing the January blues. This happens every year after the holidays, dealing with weather and illness.  It seems the folks just hunker down and wait for that first glimmer of spring, before planning anything extra in their lives.

A good sign of activity is the annual BRR ride.  It’s hard to believe this event has been going on for 40 years. The folks will be out in full force getting ready for this fun day, Saturday, Feb. 4. You don’t have to ride to enjoy the day. Come eat with the folks feeding riders and just people-watch.  It’s entertaining, to say the least.

Things going on here at the library. We have had quite a few new release movies and books come in.  Wednesday afternoon, February 1, the movie “Miss Peregrime’s Home for Peculiar Children” will be shown after the buses deliver the kids to Rippey.  Rated PG-13.

I’m still working on weekly events for the kids; they seem to enjoy science experiments. I’m also still looking for Legos for kids to start a Lego Club and welcome any donations if your kids have outgrown them. ~by Shawneene Kenan, librarian
