Classics Week includes family favorites

The cold of winter can be a special time to create family memories at the annual Classics Week at the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson.

Featured movies include family favorites “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” one of Gene Wilder’s best-known movies, Monday and Tuesday; and Steven Spielberg’s “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,”  Wednesday and Thursday. “Casablanca,” starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, will finish a three-day run today.

Remaining show times are:

  • “Casablanca” –  Sunday, Jan. 28 & 29, at 2 and 7 pm
  • “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” – Monday, Jan. 30, at 7 pm and Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 2 and 7 pm
  • “ET. The Extra-Terrestrial” – Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 2 and 7 pm and Thursday, Feb. 2, at 7 pm

There is no admission during Classics Week but donations will be accepted. Concessions will be available at all shows.

Proceeds from Classics Week will go toward the purchase of a new popcorn popper and repair of the current 30-year-old popper.
