Deadlines for grant applications are nearing for three local groups.
The deadline for applications to Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation is Jan. 31. Grow Greene County Gaming Corp holds the gaming license for Wild Rose Jefferson and distributes a portion of the gross gaming proceeds. Grow Greene County accepts applications for projects that cost $35,000 or more. Visit growgreenecounty.org for details. Grants will be awarded April 4.
The Jefferson Rotary Foundation is accepting applications for grants from the proceeds of the annual charity auction now through Feb. 1. The application process is open to non-profit organizations whose programs or projects benefit others in the areas of peace, conflict resolution and other social issues; fighting disease and promoting health; providing clean water/environmental issues; economic and community development; and youth/education and literacy. Applications for grants from the Greene County Community Foundation are due Feb. 9. The Community Foundation expects to disburse¬†approximately $182,000¬†in grants for projects of $35,000 or less with money it receives from Grow Greene County.
