Greene County district court, week ending Dec. 29

In Greene County district court Theodore John Herrick, 35, of Jefferson was sentenced Dec. 21 to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of prohibited acts (aggravated misdemeanor), amended from prohibited act, Schedule II narcotic (Class C felony). The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. Herrick was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge and a $10 drug abuse resistance education surcharge. Court costs were $1,100. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Kimberly Marie Ore, 43, of Jefferson, perjury; Melaine Ann Jondal, 41, of Webster City, false reporting of financial transaction, fraudulent practice- second degree, and unlawful betting more than $500 but less than $1000; Kevin Dean Ashworth, 50, of Scranton, operating while intoxicated- third offense; and Timothy J. Schrum, 28, of Atlantic, driving while license barred. Trial dates were set for Feb. 28 in every case.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Victorino Pena Perez, 38, of Jefferson is charged with unlawful betting- winnings over $500 but less than $1000, false reporting of financial transaction, and fraudulent practice- second degree. The warrant was issued Nov. 8 and returned Dec. 22.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Kyle Douglas Goodman, 27, of Perry is charged with unlawful betting- winning more than $500 but less than $1000. The warrant was issued Nov. 8 and returned Dec. 28.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Kristen Abbie Langfitt, 24, of Dana has been charged with forgery. The warrant was issued Nov. 24 and returned Dec. 22.
