Annie’s Project offered in Greene County

Annie’s Project is the agricultural business education program that empowers farm and ranch women who want to be more knowledgeable about their agricultural enterprises. Greene County Extension is excited to make this program available beginning Thursday, Jan. 12.

This is an outstanding opportunity to collaborate with other women to learn about and discuss agriculture topics including finances, legal issues, succession planning, marketing, human resources and production. The registration deadline for this is Thursday, Jan. 5.

The sessions are six consecutive Thursday mornings from 8:30 am until 11:30 am, beginning with a light breakfast at 8:15 before transitioning over to the session topic. The sessions will be led by ISU Extension and Outreach program specialists and area agriculture experts and will include hands-on exercises and an extensive workbook valued at $150. This program is sponsored nationally by the United States Department of Agriculture and Farm Credit Services of America, and locally by Landus Cooperative, Diamond Oil, and Greene County Farm Bureau.

There are two options to register. Register online at www.aep.iastate.edu/womeninag or stop by the Greene County Extension office to register and submit payment of $75. There are limited scholarship opportunities available.

Visit Greene County Extension, 104 West Washington in Jefferson, Monday-Friday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm.  Persons who have questions can contact the office at 515-386-2138 or email Lori Mannel at lmannel@iastate.edu.
