Update: E-57 open at Greenbrier Creek

County Road E-57 (290th St) west of Highway 4 is once again open to traffic. The road has been closed since an accident Nov. 29 that severely damaged the guardrail on the south side of the bridge over Greenbrier Creek just east of K Ave.

The secondary roads department on Thursday placed 11 pre-cast temporary concrete barriers along the curb line behind the white pavement edge line. The crew also placed new bridge end marker posts and signs as well as white rock on the shoulder.

The bridge is scheduled for replacement in 2018. That determination was made a week prior to the accident.
