Republican Peter Bardole repeated his primary victory over incumbent Guy Richardson and won the Greene County supervisor District 5 race by a vote of 2,654 votes (60.59 percent) to Richardson’s 1,719 votes (39.25 percent).
Richardson, who has served four terms on the board of supervisors as a Republican, lost to Bardole in the June primary and then ran for the seat as non-partisan.
Incumbents won the other two seats up on the board of supervisors. In District 1 Republican Mick Burkett received 2,909 votes (64.83 percent) to serve a second term while Democrat Alan Robinson received 1,572 votes (35.03 percent).
In District 4 Republican John Muir receive 3,187 votes (69.84 percent) and Democrat Todd Madson received 1,369 votes (30.0 percent).
In the Jefferson city council race voters elected Dan Benitz to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Lisa Jaskey.
Benitz received 63.44 percent of the votes; Matt Wetrich received 18.46 percent and Kirk Hammer received 18.08 percent.
Benitz will be the last council member to be elected from a ward. The city council earlier this fall did away with voting wards and all future city council members will be elected at large.
Benitz will serve until the term expires in 2019.
