Greene County district court, week ending July 15

In Greene County district court Deann Marie Goff, 34, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after she pleaded guilty to forgery (aggravated misdemeanor), amended from forgery (class D felony). The prison term was suspended and she was placed on probation for two years. She was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. Goff must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge, $1,200 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees, and $132.88 court costs.

A companion case in which Goff was charged in magistrate court with theft-fifth degree, and a case from 2015 in which she was charged in district court with theft- fourth degree were dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)

Zakkariah Dylan-Levi Boudewyn, 24, of Jefferson was sentenced to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty July 8 to a charge of attempt to disarm a peace officer (class D felony). He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge. He must also pay $240 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $327.50 court costs. Charges of assault on person in certain occupations/ use or display dangerous weapon, and assault on person in certain occupation/ bodily injury, interference with official acts/ dangerous weapon were dismissed. Dylan Mikul Casali, 19, of Grand Junction was sentenced to 30 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- first offense. All but two days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He must pay sheriff’s room and board fees for the time he serves, as well as a $100 fine with a $35 surcharge, a $125 LEI surcharge, a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge, $125 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $180 court costs. Kaleb Lee Lentz, 21, of Scranton was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Lentz was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay $1,200 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)

Sheldon Dean McMain, 19, of Boone was sentenced to two days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana- first offense. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $125 LEI surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge, $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A companion case in magistrate court in which McMain was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: Kester)

Christina Marie Funke, 33, of Guthrie Center was sentenced to 60 days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWO)- first offense. All but two days was suspended, and she will receive credit for completing a 48-hour OWI Weekend Offender program. She was placed on informal probation for one year. She must follow the recommendations of a substance abuse evaluation already completed and she must complete a community college drinking drivers school. Funke was fined $1,250 with a $427.50 surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. She must also pay $750 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)

Kole Higgins, 21, of Grand Junction was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of driving while license barred. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. Higgins was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. He must pay $600 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)

Persons pleaded not guilty in district court as follows: Christina L. Owens, 30, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury; Barbara Ann Sherman, 62, of Jamaica, OWI- third offense and child endangerment (three counts); Justin Ray Lopez, 18, of Jefferson, OWI- first offense; Nicole Danielle Weese, 30, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- first offense; Randy Dean Esslinger, 62, of Bayard OWI- first offense; and Patrick Michael Kennedy, 31, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault impeding air/ blood flow. Trial dates were set for Sept. 27 in every case.

Godwin, 38, of Bouton, forgery; Tod Lynn Rickels, 55, of Perry, criminal mischief- fourth degree and trespass- injury or damage greater than $200; Fashion Marie Foster, 41, of Rippey, harassment- second degree; Lester Leroy Johns, 59, of Scranton, OWI- first offense; McCellan S. Siruta, 33, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- first offense, operating under the influence- first offense, assault on person in certain occupation (bodily injury), interference with official acts (bodily injury), and carrying weapons while intoxicated; Michael Eugene Hamilton, 39, of Grand Junction, domestic abuse assault- second offense; Christin Charles Smith, 32, of Woodward, domestic abuse assault- second offense; and Trinity Glen Welch, 27, of Jefferson, driving while license barred.
