Music and an ice cream social at the Methodist Church Sunday

The First United Methodist Church in Jefferson will host an afternoon of music followed by an ice cream social Sunday, June 26, at the church at 307 S. Wilson.

The music begins at 4 pm. The Greene County Singers and the church choir will sing. The program will also include the Rev Jim Barnet playing guitar and singing, Pastor Julie Poulsen and Danille Curtis performing a piano duet, Sheri Sloan with a piano solo, and Gary Haupert with a vocal solo.

Elise Poulsen, niece of Pastor Julie, will play a violin solo accompanied by Jamie Poulsen, professor of music at Simpson College and Pastor Julie’s brother. Jamie Poulsen will also play a piano solo. The program is subject to change.

After the music, all are invited to an ice cream social in the Fellowship Hall from 5 to 6:30 pm. Homemade ice cream with pie and cake and beefburgers will be served. A free will donation will be accepted for the ice cream social.
