Mini grants available for downtown façade fix-ups

The design committee of Jefferson Matters: Main Street reminds building owners in the Main Street district that mini grants of up to $250 are available for building improvements.

The purpose of the grants is to improve the historic exterior appearance of the buildings. Eligible projects to be considered for funding include paint, tuck-pointing, replacement of windows and doors, and removal of non-conforming elements of a building.

The maximum request is $250 and is available on a reimbursement basis only. The building owner must submit an application that is available at the Main Street office or online at www.jeffersonmatters.org Receipts with before and after pictures need to be submitted prior to the committee funding this reimbursement.

The Jefferson Matters board of directors has budgeted $3,000 for the mini-grant program. Members of the design committee have also volunteered to help with painting if needed.
