JPD tells sTEP results

police_dept_badgeJefferson police officers wrote 16 citations and issued 70 warnings during a special Traffic Enforcement Project (sTEP) wave May 23-June 5.

Citations were issued as follows: stop sign/stop light violation, three; driving with license suspended or revoked, three; seat belt violation, two; speed, two; driving without a license, one; driving without a license, one; and other traffic violations, four.

Warnings were issued as follows: speed, 15; equipment violations, 15; no proof of insurance, 13; registration violations, 12; stop sign/stop light violation, five; seat belt violation, two; improper passing, one; and other traffic violations, seven.

Officers also investigated two accidents, made one narcotics arrest and assisted one motorist during that time.
