Adult ‘Party in the Alley’ planned for June 3

All Jefferson residents are invited to celebrate with the Tower View Team at a Party in the Alley on June 3.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 pm in Sally’s Alley on the south side of the courthouse square. This is an adult celebration with sangria and lemonade being served along with light appetizers.

The Tower View Team will unveil the newest painted piano with several local pianists entertaining party-goers.

A second bench and several new pictures of birds have been added to the alley this winter and spring, and the plantings in the alley should be in full bloom. Also, there is talk that Floyd and Dora Mahanay will make an appearance since they loved parties, a spokesperson said.

Freewill donations towards more Tower View Team projects will be accepted. Shelly Berger is coordinating this event for the TVT.

The TVT is a committee of Jefferson Matters: Main Street and is responsible for many improvements in the downtown. The TVT coordinated the Sally’s Alley project , rooftop art on Skeeter Creek, yarn-bombing of the trees and bicycles, Bell Tower sculpture contest, the Mahanay Bell Tower Memories and Moments community poem with David Williamson, the next alley project on the west side of the square and much more.

A second rooftop art project is in the works. This committee is made up of people who enjoy bringing public art and activities to the downtown. Members welcome residents to join them and get involved. Contact Debra McGinn, chairperson of Tower View Team or Main Street program director Peg Raney for more information.
