The Loren Shriver Community Room was full Monday evening as members of the Paton-Churdan class of 2016 were honored at a catered banquet sponsored by Community State Bank of Paton and United Bank of Iowa, Churdan.
Along with graduates were parents and relatives, school staff, and scholarship presenters.
All graduating seniors are required to select a mentor and write an essay explaining how that mentor has impacted his or her life as part of their senior portfolio. The essays were read aloud at the banquet, with the mentors as special guests.
