Greene Co MS girls compete at HOIAC meet

The Greene County middle school girls track and field teams combined to compete at the HOIAC conference meet at Monroe on Friday, May 6.  The Rams faced some very tough competition and placed seventh out of nine teams.

Team scores were Gilbert 182, North Polk 129.5, Roland-Story 84, Nevada 77, Prairie City-Monroe 76.5, South Hamilton 60, Greene County 39, Collins-Maxwell-Baxter 35, Saydel 29.

The Greene County 1600M distance medley team broke the school record with a time of 4:51.69 and placed second. Megan Doran, Harleigh Weir, Tieryn Tucker and Bailey Cunningham comprise the team.

The Rams had no third place finishes. Placing fourth were Izzy Bravard in the 100M hurdles in :18.54; and the 4 X 400M relay with a time of 4:43.24. Cunningham, Bravard, Weir and Tucker comprise the team.

Sixth place finishes were earned by Megan Higgins with a throw of 71’ 55” in the discus; and Makala Kafer in the 200M hurdles with a time of :33.95.

“We are proud of the places we did earn at a very tough meet,” said coaches Roger Olhausen and Teresa Green.
