HS students at Iowa Central business contest

Greene County High School was represented by 14 students at the 25th annual Iowa Central Business and Culinary Competition Day in Fort Dodge on Wednesday, March 30.  There were more than 230 students from 18 schools with 23 instructors.

Faith Hanson won a $500 scholarship to Iowa Central based on an essay she wrote.

First place winners were eligible to win one of two iPads. Cassidy Adamson won one, having qualified for the drawing with a first place finish in intro to business.

Also placing first was Kim Millard in business document formatting.

Earning second place were Cassidy Carstens in business document formatting and Lakota Larson in computer accounting.

Third place finishers were Carstens in vocabulary and spelling and Wyatt Tipton in computer accounting.

Hanson placed fourth in business math. Fifth place finishes went to Adamson in business communications, Hanson in accounting, Brittany Richardson in computer accounting, and Calvin Skalla in business math.

Instructors for these students are Tony Beger, Donna Carhill, Teresa Green and Mavis Sawhill.
