Jazzatonics enjoying success

The Greene County High School jazz choir, the Jazzatonics, placed first at the North Polk Comet Sensation vocal jazz competition last Saturday, Feb. 13. Seniors Victoria Sims and Jacob Wittry both received Outstanding Soloist awards.

The Jazzatonics followed that by earning straight Division I ratings at the Iowa High School Music Association jazz choir contest held in Jefferson Feb. 17.

They students will change their tune just a bit in April. The Jazzatonics have been selected to perform the National Anthem when the Harlem Globetrotters play April 10 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Also, a girls vocal ensemble from Greene County High School will sing the National Anthem at the first day of the boys state basketball tournament March 7.
