Bradshaw on winners side in state wrestling tourney

Greene County senior wrestler Tommy Bradshaw (41-1) will wrestle Friday in quarterfinals of the Class 2A state wrestling tournament after winning an 11-3 major decision over Wes Cummings of PCM in the first round at Wells Fargo Arena Thursday.

In the quarterfinals Bradshaw will wrestle sophomore Isaac Judge (41-04) of South Tama County. Judge won his first round by fall in 1:14 over senior Neil Clement (35-13) of Crestwood-Cresco.

Ram sophomore Kane Borgeson (113) qualified for the state tournament after his opponent was disqualified in the district tournament. Borgeson suffered a concussion when he was slammed to the mat in that round. Borgeson did not weigh in at the state tournament.

Webster City freshman Drake Doolittle (38-7), the disqualified wrestler from Saturday, wrestled at the state tournament Thursday due to Borgeson’s absence. Doolittle lost by a 5-4 decision to South Tama County sophomore Brady Fritz (37-6). Doolittle wrestles on the consolation side of the bracket against freshman Nate Wornwall (28-8) of Spirit Lake Park.
