Greene County district court, week ending Feb. 12

In Greene County district court Rheise Allen Preshall, 25, of Churdan was sentenced to two days in jail and placed on informal probation for one year after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. Presnall was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE) and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. Court costs were $141.12. Presnall was originally charged with assault on a peace officer and gathering where controlled substance are unlawfully used. A companion case in magistrate court in which Presnall was charged with assault, harassment-third degree and possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)

Alysha Nicole DeHoet, 37, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. She will be on informal probation for one year and must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. DeHoet must pay a $315 civil penalty, a $125 LEI surcharge and restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined. Court costs were $100. A case in magistrate court in which DeHoet was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: Kester)

Ann C. Lehnhoff, 39, of Grand Junction was granted a deferred judgment and placed on one year informal probation after she pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of contraband in a jail, amended from introducing intoxicants or drugs into a jail and possession of contraband in a correctional institution. Lehnhoff must pay a $625 civil penalty, restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined, and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Sonya May Smith, 25, of Lohrville, forgery (four counts); Michael Lynn Heard Dr, 54, of Jefferson, eluding, interference with official acts-bodily injury, criminal mischief-third degree, and assault on persons in certain occupations-bodily injury, and in a separate case, forgery (11 counts); Lance Edward Kruse, 33, of Scranton, driving while license barred; Joe Edward Blackmon, 39, of Jefferson, criminal mischief-second degree and criminal mischief-fourth degree; Jamie Ray Alvarado, 21, of Grand Junction, operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense; Nathan James Flinn, 22, of Rippey, OWI-first offense and possession of a controlled substance; Suez Ann Smith, 45, of Lake City, unlawful possession of prescription drug; Don Eugene Wallace, 77, of Churdan, OWI-third offense; and Teisha Ann Thomas, 22, of Vail, possession of marijuana-first offense. A trial date was set for March 1 for Heard, and for April 5 in all other cases.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Lyric Marie Stier, 19, of Marshalltown has been charged with operating without owner’s consent. The warrant was issued Nov. 20 and returned Feb. 12.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Bonnie Mae Grunwald, 56, of Glidden, OWI-first offense; Ronnie Neal, 37, of Marshalltown, possession of methamphetamine; Jacob Eugene Day, 25, of Jefferson, driving while license barred; and Craig Darwin Presley, 55, of Jefferson, driving while license revoked.
