A new era in youth programming at ISU Extension & Outreach – Greene County has begun with the addition of Kayla Hyett to the team.

Hyett began her tenure as county youth & 4-H coordinator (CYC) on Jan. 20. As CYC, she is the primary contact and coordinator for 4-H. She will also work closely with county families coordinator Sue Richardson on other youth programming, such as the annual Babysitting Basics course.

“We’re very excited to have Kayla on our team. Her skills and background, along with fresh ideas, will be a tremendous asset to Greene County 4-H and other youth programs,” commented Lori Mannel, County Extension director.

Hyett has an associate of science degree from Black Hawk College in Galva, IL, and is a 2014 graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor of science in agricultural business. She is pursuing a master’s degree in strategic marketing through Bellevue University.

She brings experience from the University of Illinois Extension – Rock Island County, Levy Restaurants, and the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Her passion for agriculture and youth education began during her time as a 4-H member and state FFA officer. Hyett resides in Guthrie Center.

Stakeholders are invited to visit the Greene County Extension office at 104 West Washington St in Jefferson and welcome Hyett to her new position. Feel free to contact her with any questions, as well as any suggestions for programming. She can be contacted at 515-386-2138 or khyett@iastate.edu.
