Greene County district court, week ending Jan. 22

In Greene County district court Kera A. Tesdahl, 27, of Grand Junction was granted a deferred judgment after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. She was placed on informal probation for one year and must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. She must also pay a civil penalty of $100 with a $125 law enforcement initiative (LEI) surcharge and a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE). Court costs were $1,100; she has paid $1,000 of that. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)

Cory Ray Seeman, 28, of Rippey was sentenced Jan. 22 to two days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. The jail time was suspended and he was place on informal probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. Seeman was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $125 LEI surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. A charge in a companion case in magistrate court in which Seeman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Kester)

Angela Marie Roper, 43, of Churdan was granted a deferred judgment after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession marijuana. She was placed on informal probation for one year and must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommendations at her own expense. She must pay a civil penalty of $100 with a $125 LEI surcharge and a $10 DARE surcharge. A charge of possession of methamphetamine was dismissed. Court costs were $140. (Sentencing: Kester)

Kurtis Bradley Langfitt, 26, of Grand Junction was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of burglary-second degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years. He must live at a residential treatment facility until maximum benefits are attained. Langfitt was fined $1,000 with a $350 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay a $125 LEI surcharge, victim restitution of $500, and restitution for his court appointed attorney to be determined. Charges of conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and burglary-third degree were dismissed. Court costs were $444. (Sentencing: Honorable Gary L. McMinimee)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Brett Everett Grundon, 34, of Grand Junction, operating while intoxicated-first offense; and  Coleman Keith Marlow Jr, 34, of Grand Junction, domestic abuse assault-second degree and sex abuse-second degree. Grundon’s trial date was set for April 5. Marlow’s trial date was set for March 1.

Information is available since the return of arrest warrants that Nicholas James Miner, 37, of Fairplay, CO, has been charge with possession of a firearm as a felon and possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Patrick Douglas Doyle, 46, of Jefferson, unauthorized use of a credit card; Richard Dean Tuhn Jr, 37, of Grand Junction, possession of a firearm as a felon; Nicholas Scott Lytle, 32, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana-second offense; and Zakkariah Dylan-Levi Boudwyn, 23, of Jefferson, assault on persons in certain occupations/use or display dangerous weapon, assault on persons in certain occupation/bodily injury, interference with official acts/dangerous weapon, and disarming a police officer.
