‘Olaf’s Winter Beach Party’ coming to the Jeff library

Olaf's beach partyThe party is only part of the fun

What does a snowman do in the Bahamas? Beta Tau Delta and staff at the Jefferson public library invite children in kindergarten through third grade to find out at ‘Olaf’s Winter Beach Party.’ The fun is planned for Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 2 to 3:30 pm, at the library.

There is no charge to attend, but parents are asked to pre-register their children by Dec. 4 by calling the children’s library at  515-386-4415.

Library staff wants children to know that “some books are worth melting for.” During December children can search for icy treasures in “Frozen” look and find puzzles, or build a snowman with flannel board pieces or an igloo with icy block boxes. There will be other crafts, too.

Also, Sven is hiding in the library, moving every night while the library is closed. Children can enter a “Where’s Sven?” drawing every time they find him.

People of all ages are invited to movies at the library Wednesdays at 2 pm. Movies are: Dec. 2, “Frosty the Snowman”; Dec. 16, “Frozen”; Dec. 23, “A Flintstones Christmas Carol”; and Dec. 30, “Secret of the Wings”. There is no charge.
