Scranton Methodists invite community to celebrate Thanksgiving on Sunday

The Scranton United Methodist Church has issued an invitation to everyone in the community to join them for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, Nov. 22. The catered luncheon will be served at 12:30 pm in the handicap-accessible fellowship hall.

Church members want to thank everyone in the area for their support over the past year and decided that a community Thanksgiving dinner was the solution. A special invitation has been extended to members of the Scranton Church of Christ and the Coon Rapids UMC, with whom they share their pastor.

There is no charge for the meal. It’s their way of saying “thank you.”

A Thanksgiving worship service is planned at 1:30 pm in the sanctuary. Special music will be performed by John and Sharon Richardson of Coon Rapids and Chad Stevens of Scranton. UMC pastor Joyce Webb and Bob McKnight from the Church of Christ will offer words of Thanksgiving.  ~The Scranton Journal
