Greenbrier 4-H Club

The annual Greenbrier 4-H potluck was held Nov 1 at the Presbyterian Church in Jefferson. After the supper, Abby Badger called the meeting to order with Brian Hardaway leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Kara Schroeder led the introduction of families; and then Abby and Kara led an icebreaker game. Arthur Bardole, Abby, Samantha Hardaway, and Kara explained the purposes and ideals of 4-H in the new Greenbrier member initiation. Those initiated were Sadie and Cody Gilbertson, Grace Hardaway, Paige Teeples, Cody Stephenson and Elias Messer.

Arthur and Samantha told the highlights of the 2015 Greenbrier year, followed by the installation of the new officers for 2016. Officers installed were co-presidents Emily Heupel and Wade Wuebker, co-vice-presidents Abby Badger and Kara Schroeder, secretary Samantha Hardaway, treasurer Arthur Bardole, reporter Josey Weaver, photographer Natalie Heupel, historian Avery Bardole, recreation officer Caden Etherton and Caedon Messer, nutrition officer Kara Schroeder and greeter Katrina Heupel.

Kara and Abby handed out tenure certificates and stickers for years of service in 4-H to: Katrina and Natalie Heupel, Noble Hoyt, Madison Kinsey, Olivia Shannon, Josey Weaver, Emma Halterman, Caden Etherton, and Caedon Messer – one year; Amie Schroeder, Justin Stream, Abby Kozal, Brock and Wade Wuebker – two years; Avery Bardole, Isaiah Losee, Jaden Hoyt, David Dideriksen – three years; Austin Delp, Brian Hardaway, and Aubrey Heupel – four years; Brock Badger, Arthur Bardole, Gina Brown, Onica Delp, Mani Jubell, and Kara Reed – five years; Samantha Hardaway – six years; Abby Badger, Emily Heupel, and Kara Schroeder – seven years; Rielly Harrington, Lakota Larson, Jamie Theulen – *eight years; and Sarah Sandage – nine years.

Record books were handed back as each of the members recounted some of their main discoveries in 4-H this year. After closing comments from leader Linda Hedges, the meeting was closed with these announcements. Re-enrollments need to be done online, with the fee taken to the Extension office by Nov. 16 to avoid a $25 late fee. The new member meeting will be Nov. 20 starting at the Extension office at 6 pm, then moving to Spare Time Lanes for bowling.

Greenbrier’s annual bowling and pizza party will be Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 pm at Spare Time Lanes followed by pizza at Breadeaux.
