News in and around Rippey:

Dale Hanaman hosted a birthday gathering for Nancy at their home on Monday, Oct. 19. Joining in the festivities were Mary and Rick Liebich, Pastor Paul and Nancy Burrow, Rachel Sacco and Chris Henning and Bob Rye.

Nancy and Susan Juhl enjoyed meeting for lunch this week at Homestead in Jefferson to celebrate their October birthdays. Along with Marna Rittgers Parker, now in Austin, TX, they spent their early days together at the Greene County Hospital and traveled their school journey from kindergarten, with Maxine Johnson as their teacher, through graduation at East Greene.

Continuing the birthday theme, Dale and Nancy traveled to Wisconsin to celebrate in Rice Lake with Matthew Hanaman, Adrianna and Adyara, Sarah and Benji Pearson, Steven, Elizabeth and Andrea from Superior, WI.

On Friday, Oct. 23, Jean Borgeson met with her cousins Ann Siglin of Hollis, NH, and Bill Siglin of Woodward. Ann has been here for a few weeks due to the illness and death of their mother Virginia Siglin.  After lunch, the afternoon was spent looking through family mementos. The cousins sent home a large tote filled with scrapbooks and pictures that belonged to their mom and some of their grandmother’s as well. These will be shared with the rest of the family at some point. (Sooner, rather than later, I hope!) Oh, what fun for this genealogist!
