John 15 Vineyard plans open house

John 15 Vineyard, croppedDean and Nancy Rogers will host the annual fall open house at John 15 Vineyard next Saturday, Sept. 5, from 9 am to 6 pm. They’ve planned a fun-filled day of events to welcome in the grape harvest.

The newest attraction is the addition of a retail store where fresh grapes, jams, jellies, juice, syrup, pies, roll-up, grape-filled cookies and candies will be available, as well as items from other local producers.

Throughout the day tours of the vineyard, tree house and conference/event center will be available.

A “pitch and putt” golf outing will be held on the John 15 par 3 course with a shotgun start at 10 am. Golfers should bring their pitching wedge, putter and balls. Teams of four are encouraged to pre-register, with a $20 per team fee. Prizes will be awarded.

A lunch of Moo Meat burgers, chips and beverages will be served from 11 am to 2 pm.

There will be a catch and release fishing derby from 2 to 3 pm. Participants should bring one pole per participant, and worms or artificial bait. There is a $3 charge; prizes will be awarded.

John 15 Vineyard is located at 343 180th St northwest of Scranton. For directions or more information, call 712-652-3760 or visit
