Absentee ballots available for school election

Absentee ballots for the upcoming school election are ready. Both the Greene County and Paton-Churdan districts have regular elections in odd-numbered years.

Voters may visit the county auditor’s office at the courthouse during regular business hours, Monday -Friday,  8 am to 4:30 pm,  and vote an absentee ballot.

They may vote absentee up until 11 am Tuesday, Sept. 8, the day of the election. Once polls open they must go to their regular school election polling place. They may also request a ballot be mailed to them by filling out an absentee ballot request form.

Voters in the Greene County school district will elect two board of education members. Incumbent Ashley Johnston and John MConnell are on the ballot. Voters will also vote on a proposed $20 million bond issue for construction and remodeling. To see the public notice of election and a sample ballot, click here: Greene Co CSD

Towers subsequently resigned and Jen Maach was appointed to the vacancy. Maach is on the ballot to finish the term (2017). Another position is vacant, with no one listed on the ballot.
