John Brunow of All Ability Cycles has been all over the state this summer sharing his love of bicycling with many physically-challenged people. He and his wife Ces and Diane Wise rode RAGBRAI with the Adaptive Sports Iowa Team. Many of the team riders rode bicycles from All Ability Cycles.

As the Brunows and Wise made their way across Iowa, they started each day taking residents of nursing homes in the RAGBRAI overnight towns on bicycle rides using the Draisin Bliss. The Bliss features a platform on which a wheelchair can be safely anchored so a person in a wheelchair can still enjoy a bike ride.

Earlier this month, John and Ces helped Ann Reynolds take her 92-year-old mother Elaine Hamilton for an evening bike ride on the High Trestle Bridge near Woodward. Elaine called the ride “one of the most amazing things I’ve ever done,” and said ‘I don’t want to leave. It’s so nice.”

Ann posted this poignant video of their evening ride.
