Dr Van Der Veer’s face is familiar at the medical center – he currently serves as chief medical officer, a position he will maintain. Van Der Veer, an internal medicine specialist, will see adult patients three days a week at UnityPoint Clinic – Greene County.

Chief nursing officer Katie Heldt said, “This is a big win for the community, UnityPoint Clinic and the medical center.” Van Der Veer joined the medical center’s executive team in April 2014 and has been instrumental in overseeing the recruitment of additional visiting specialists to the campus, most recently oncology/hematology, pulmonology and cardiology specialists.
