Ribbons told for county fair open class exhibits

Fair open class floralDoug Hawn has finished the enormous task of compiling information about the entries into the various open classes at the Greene County Fair. Eighty-six persons of all ages took a total of 446 entries to the fair.

Best in the class ribbons were awarded as follows:

  • Textiles & fabrics: quilt- Arlene Berns; fabrics- JoAnne Schnebley; needle art- Glenda Nunez
  • Canned goods & oven products: baked goods- Pat Ott; canned  goods- Duane Forkner
  • Genealogy: adult- David Roquet; youth- Nicholas Stream
  • Arts & crafts: art- Stacie Clark; craft- Don Hyndman
  • Agriculture: display collection- Laura McKnight; fruit- Pat Ott; herb- Laura McKnight; potatoes- Joleen Allen; vegetable- Kori Vogel
  • Floriculture: hosta- Avery Bardole; lily- Dave Walker; rose- Marilyn Lawton; specimen- Carol Zwicky; artistic design- Mary Ellen Hotz; house plant- Sharon Fisher
  • Junior citizen: ages 2-10- Grace Hardaway; ages 11-16- Joe Thompson
