No contested races for school board seats

With the filing deadline past for school board candidates, there are no contested races in the county.

In the Greene County Community School Community School District, incumbent Ashley Johnson and John McConnell are on the ballot with two seats available. School board member Jeff Lamoureux is not running for re-election.

In the Paton-Churdan Community School District, John McCormick is the only candidate with two seats vacant. Jennifer Maach is running to fill a vacancy. She now holds the seat as an appointment by the board following the resignation of Libby Towers. Incumbents Steve Burrell and Troy Paup are not running for re-election.

Both districts are electing a director to serve the merged Area V Community College District No. 9. Douglas McDermott is the only candidate on the ballot.

Voters in the Greene County district will also vote on a proposal for a $20 million bond issue for new construction and renovation.

The annual school election will be Tuesday, Sept. 8.
