Durbin second in 3A high jump; shuttle hurdle relay on to finals

Thursday results of coed State Track and Field Meet

Greene County freshman Megan Durbin finished in second place in the girls 3A high jump at the State Track and Field Meet this morning at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Her jump of 5′ 4″ was just one inch off the winning jump by senior Marie Wrage of Union High School (La Porte City).

The girls shuttle hurdle relay team, composed of senior Mollie Sorber, sophomore Nadia Fisher, and seniors Sarah Sandage and Eme Johnson, qualified for the finals with a time of 1:08.21 in the preliminaries to start the morning Thursday. The finals are slated for 11:10 am Saturday.

THURSDAY RESULTS

  • Girls shuttle hurdle relay prelims – (Mollie Sorber, Nadia Fisher, Sarah Sandage, Eme Johnson), 1:08.21 – Qualified for finals at 11:10 am Saturday
  • Girls discus – Hannah Onken, 103’ 3”, 19th place
  • Boys 100 m dash prelims – Max Neese, :11.68, 18th place
  • Boys discus – Alex Rasmussen, 140’ 1”, 14th place
  • Girls high jump – Megan Durbin, 5’ 4”, second place; Nadia Fisher, 4’ 9”, 18th place
  • Girls 200 m dash prelims – Olivia Hansen, :26.10, 10th place
  • Boys 200 m dash prelims – Max Neese, :23.44, 22nd place
  • Boys shuttle hurdle relay prelims – (Dylan McConnell, Joe Doran, Daric Whipple, Tyler Beger), 1:06.61, 17th place
