Greene County magistrate court, week ending May 15

In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered May 13 in a case initiated in district court against Lance Maydar Dzuris of Jefferson. A charge of assault causing bodily injury was amended to assault-simple. A judgment was entered for a $100 fine with a $35 surcharge. Court costs were $121.

Cases were initiated in magistrate court during the week ending May 15 as follows: Jeremy Ernest Andrews of Jefferson, public intoxication and, in a separate case, theft-fifth degree; and Lilio Tinoco Cruz and Ordonez Pacheco, both of Clinton, NC, public intoxication.

Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week ending May 15 as follows: Philip Edward Shaw of Des Moines, failure to maintain control, $100; and Jose Adan Sanchez Ruiz of Rippey, no valid driver’s license, $200.

Also, speed, $40 (6-10 over): Gabrielle Ashlyn Schultz of Marion, Jose Adan Sanchez Ruiz of Rippey, Ronald Dean Keesey of West Des Moines, Amara Chye Standley of Urbandale, Zachary Jeremiah Danner of Grand Junction, *Megan Marie Specht of Scranton, Miles Jay Hess of Greenfield, and Klair Dean Greenfield of Spencer.

Speed, $20 (1-5 over): Brittany Marie Schultes of Dedham, Jose Luis Patino-Vega of Denison, and Joseph Lyle Baum of Des Moines.

Failure to obey stop/yield sign, $100: Harry James Jensen of Jefferson.

Failure to wear/maintain safety belt, $50: Zachary Michael Bachman of Dedham.

Commercial motor vehicle violations: Fausto Antonio Colon of Laredo, TX, maximum hours of service violation, $50; Michael Lee Emery of Jefferson, gross weight in excess of registered gross weight, $40; Joseph Ryan Ford of Urbandale, inoperative front turn signals, $50, defective hazard lamp, $50, rear turn lamp inoperative, $50, and failure to correct defects noted on three previous inspections, $50; Philip Edward Shaw of Des Moines, failure to connect emergency breakaway device to towing unit, $50; and Derek Marvin Blair of Lake City, inoperable low air warning signal on trailer, $50, and failure to meet minimum number of tie downs, no die down on machine, $50.

Judgments were entered against individuals for nonpayment of scheduled fines as follows (original fine listed): Michelle Lynn Higgins of Grand Junction operation without registration, $50; Bradley Scott Chiles of Chariton, failure to maintain control, paid $100 fine, judgment entered for $35 surcharge and $60 court costs; and Lance Hubby of Ogden, speed, $40, paid $20 of fine, judgment entered for remaining $20 fine, $14 surcharge and court costs.

The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.

Court costs were $60 on each citation unless otherwise noted.

*An additional $5 county surcharge was added.
