Greene County magistrate court, week ending May 1

In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered in a case initiated in district court against Stephen Patrick Genovese III, of Des Moines. A charge in district court of criminal mischief-fourth degree was amended to criminal mischief-fifth degree, and a charge of going armed with intent was amended to assault-simple. He was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge on each of those charges. On the criminal mischief charge he must also pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge. Genovese must pay $720.69 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $275.22 court costs.

A judgment was entered in a case initiated in district court against Michael Edward Dennhardt of Rippey after he pleaded guilty to charges of criminal mischief-fifth degree and assault-simple, amended from criminal mischief-fourth degree and assault with intent to inflict serious injury. Dennhardt was granted a deferred judgment and placed on informal probation for one year. He must pay a $100 civil penalty, a $125 LEI surcharge, $250 victim restitution and a total of $3,100 court costs. Dennhardt has paid $3,000 of the court costs.

A judgment was entered April 29 against Hayley Lynn Brown of Jefferson on a charge of harassment-third degree. Brown was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. She must pay $30 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $60 court costs. A charge of criminal mischief was dismissed.

Judgments were entered in two cases against Kevin Armando Montoya of Jefferson. In the first, he was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge of false report to public entity. Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts. In the second, Montoya was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge of trespass. He must also pay a $125 LEI surcharge. Court costs were $60 in each case.

Ronald Adam Pappas of Des Moines was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge on a charge of trespass. Court costs were $60.

A judgment of $65 with a $22.75 surcharge was entered against Patrick Michael Kennedy of Jefferson on a charge of violation of a no contact order. Court costs were $60.

A judgment of $65 with a $22.75 surcharge was entered against Kurt D. Potthoff of Urbandale on a charge of criminal mischief-fifth degree. He must also pay a $125 LEI surcharge. Court costs were $60.

Dray Rivera of Grand Junction was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge of disorderly conduct. Court costs were $60.

The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.
