Greene County district court, week ending May 1

In Greene County district court Eric Christopher Rosenow, 31, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault causing bodily injury. All but seven days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. The fine and surcharge were suspended. Rosenow must pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees to be determined, and $142.38 court costs. A charge of domestic abuse assault while displaying a weapon was dismissed. Drake Patrick Dayton, 18, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He was placed on informal probation for one year and must complete the recommendations of a drug abuse evaluation at his own expense. Dayton must pay a civil penalty of $315, a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge, a $10 drug abuse resistance education (DARE) surcharge, $60 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A companion case in magistrate court in which Dayton was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: Kester)

Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending May 1 as follows: Omar Felan Estrada, 28, of Grand Junction, burglary-third degree; James Tirrill Perry, 37, of Ames, driving while license barred; and Lance Maydar Dzuris, 34, of Jefferson, assault cuasing bodily injury.
