Ram boys place second at Hawk Relays

The Greene County Ram boys track and field team placed second at the Woodward-Granger Hawk Relays April 28 in Granger. Dallas Center-Grimes won with 162 points, followed by Greene County with 147 points. Other team scores were Iowa Christian Academy 77, Woodward-Granger 71.5, Glidden-Ralston 39, Paton-Churdan 32, and West Central 18.5

Junior Max Neese won the 100 meter dash with a time of :11.66. Senior Dylan Hamilton finished third in :11.75. Neese won the 200 m dash in :23.73.

Senior Joe Doran finished econd in the 110 m hurdles in a time of :17.05. Junior Daric Whipple placed second in the 400 m hurdles in :57.69.

Neese ran the final piece of the winning 4 X 100 meter relay team with sophomore Dalton Weber, senior Dylan McConnell and Hamilton running ahead of him. Time was :45.38. That team placed second inn the 4 X 200 in 1:36.44. The 4 X 110 m shuttle hurdle team of McConnell, Doran, and Whipple and junior Tyler Beger won with a time of 1:02.94.

The 4 X 400 m relay team (Whipple, Beger, freshman Ethan Woodruff, Weber) placed third in 3:51.12, and the 4 X 800 m relay team (senior Landon Braun, freshmen Nick Killion and Jacob Hueser, and senior Karlan Langfitt) placed third in 10:35.63.

In field events, junior Mitchell Gorsuch won the high jump at 5’ 4”. He placed third in the long jump at 18’ 3/4”. Senior Alex Rasmussen won the discus throw at 145’ 5”. He placed second in the shot put with a throw of 46’ 1”. Senior Dan Neal placed third in the shot put at 44’ 7”.
