A yard-size version of the stacking game Jenga drew a lot of attention at the auction. Pictured with it are (from left) Hellen Marshall, Sharon Fisher, Sherry Mace, Teresa Mobley and Cheryl Diderksen.

DSCN8096The Color Out Cancer 5K run/walk drew 134 runners and walkers, all of them supporting the American Cancer Society, and some of them in honor or memory of a special person.

Sharon Fisher, Karla Janning and Jane Finch led the Survivors’ Walk. The Survivors’ Walk – a victory lap for those who have battled cancer and their caregivers, is always a highlight of the Relay for Life.

Dancers from Prairie Blue Creative Arts and Rhythm Room entertained during the community barbecue, as did the Town and Country Band and Don and Bonnie Orris and Chris and Jan Durlam with a ballroom dance demonstration.

A new addition to this year’s Relay was a Lip Sync Battle that raised $180 in People’s Choice voting. Check the Good News Sunday update for pictures of Justin Bieber, a one-man version of the Beach Boys, and more.

A “Fight Back” presentation by Rick and Kathy Morain at 7 pm at Homestead Bakery  concluded the day. The Relay for Life publicity team has many pictures posted on Facebook. Remember to “like” the page for updates on fundraising and next year’s Relay.
