“Orphan Train” is Greene County Reads selection

Orphan TrainFolks who have to budget their time carefully to include recreational reading can get a head start on the 2015 Greene County Reads selection.

Greene County librarians have selected Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline. The novel tells the story of Irish immigrant Vivian Daly, who was one of the thousands of abandoned children who, between 1854 and 1929, rode one of the so-called “orphan trains” from the East Coast to the farmlands of the Midwest.

Discussion groups will be held in Rippey, Scranton and Churdan in March. Watch for more information about the selection and discussion group dates and times.
