A home at 308 3rd St in Rippey is a total loss after a fire this morning, Jan. 21. Fire departments from Grand Junction, Perry and Jefferson responded to assist the Rippey fire department, which was first on the scene with both its trucks. Also responding were the Greene County sheriff’s office and Grand Junction rescue.
The initial call reporting the fire was made at 10:22 am. At that time, an attached barn on the east side of the property was fully engulfed in flames.
No one was at home at the time of the fire. The rental property is owned by Mark Quillen.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
