Weather data, week ending Jan. 16

Jan. 16 temperatureWhen volunteer weather observer John Beltz closed out his report for the week the “good stuff” was just starting. Only the grumpiest folks don’t enjoy a January thaw, mud and all.

Beltz’s report ended at 6 am Friday morning, before the really warm weather arrived in Greene County. KCCI’s SchoolNet 8 reported a high temperature in Jefferson of 55 degrees Friday afternoon.

With the warm end to the week, we quickly forgot how bitter cold it was earlier in the week. Low temperature was -14 degrees just three days before the warm up.

Beltz’s weather data for the week ending Jan. 16 at 6 am follows:

Date High temp Low temp Precip Snowfall
Jan. 10 9 -6
Jan. 11 31 -3
Jan. 12 24 5
Jan. 13 8 -11
Jan. 14 21 -14
Jan. 15 27 15
Jan. 16 37 21
