The Jefferson park and recreation department hosted a free weekend at the Greene County Community Center. All visitors regardless of a membership were allowed to try the community center during regular hours on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 3-4.
The community center was a popular place to be both days with more than 50 people taking advantage of the event. Members and guests were encouraged to enter a drawing for a free 6 month membership. Stephen Burbank of Paton won the membership.
Those interested in a membership at the Greene County Community Center are encouraged to call 515-386-3412 or visit and talk with staff. Information about JPRD programs is available on the city of Jefferson’s website.
The community center is open weekdays from 5 am to 9:30 pm, Saturday from 6 am to 6 pm, and on Sunday from 12 to 6 pm.
