Greene County Chamber and Development invites the public to attend the 2014 annual meeting Monday, Jan. 12, at the Elks lodge in Jefferson. Social time begins at 5:30 pm with dinner at 6:15. The agenda includes a wrap-up of 2014 and information about current projects, including the Welcome Center. New board members will be introduced, and the recipient of the 2014 Above and Beyond the Call volunteer recognition award will be announced.
The ABC Award is presented annually to an individual or couple who through personal involvement, leadership qualities, and unselfish giving of time and talent has positively affected activities or accomplishments beneficial to the community at large. Recent recipients have been Don Orris in 2013, Chris Henning in 2012, Hollie Roberts in 2011, and Chuck and Carla Offenburger in 2010.
The evening finale will include coffee, dessert and a performance by Angie and Robby Pedersen of History Boy Theatre. Tickets for the dinner are $25 in advance and may be ordered by calling the Chamber office at 515-386-2155 or email chamber@greenecountyiowa.com
