December topics told for Community Fellowship series

Organizers of the Community Fellowship series at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson have planned two discussions for December.

On Wednesday, Dec. 3, Donna Badding-Fleener, prevention consultant at New Opportunities, will discuss alcohol and drug abuse prevention awareness and what professionals are seeing in Greene County. She will talk about peer pressure among teens and what adults can do to help.

Social time will begin at 4 pm with the program at 4:30.

The Lutheran Emergency Response Team (LERT) will do a presentation Wednesday, Dec. 10. LERT volunteers are trained and ready to serve in times of disaster. They will speak at 4:30 pm.

A supper will be served at 5 pm as a fundraiser for supplies for the LERT trailer. The menu includes chili, chili dogs, and chicken noodle soup. A free will donation will be accepted.

Also, items up for silent auction are on display at the church now through Dec. 10. Auction proceeds will be used for supplies for the LERT trailer as well.

The LERT trailer is sponsored by the Boone zone of the MSLC housed in Greene County, which is part of the Boone zone.
