Historical Society meets Dec. 5 in Jefferson

Year-end meeting includes election of officers & board and holiday music

The Greene County Historical Society will meet Friday, Dec. 5, at the Greenewood Center in Jefferson to elect officers and board members, review program plans for 2015, and be entertained by Greene County High School musicians.

The meeting will open at 12 noon with a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings for $8. Reservations for the meal should be phoned to the group’s community contacts by Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Nominated as officers are Ces Brunow for a second term as president, Mary Weaver as vice-president, Janet Durlam as secretary, and Dallas Schrader as treasurer. Nominated for terms on the board of directors are Mary Lynch, Dick Pound, Chuck Offenburger and Nancy Hanaman. Members will also vote on a revision of the by-laws, mainly reflecting the hiring of an executive director.

High school instrumental music teacher Becky Greiner is coordinating a group of students for the entertainment.
