Red Barn Home & Craft Show offers shoppers’ paradise

The annual Red Barn Home and Craft Show, sponsored by Greene County Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Greene County Fairgrounds in Jefferson.

The Red Barn Show has a long history as a venue with a wide variety of high quality crafts and crafters, attracting vendors and craft lovers alike. And, for the third year, the show will include a home show, featuring vendors from Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Tupperware, Premiere Jewelry, Scentsy and others.

“The committee has worked diligently over the past several years to ensure that the goods sold at our show are top notch. We want to bring the best show possible to our community and make it worth the trip for our out-of-town visitors,” committee member Anita Briggs said.

The Red Barn Show will be a one day event. More than 50 vendors will be on hand with an excellent variety of items for all tastes. Show hours are 9 am to 4 pm. Two buildings on the fairgrounds feature top quality handmade crafts and apparel. Breakfast and lunch services will be available on site, with breakfast starting at 8 am. There will be ample free parking.

Adult admission is $3 for the purchase of an Emerald Greene wristband; all paid admissions will be eligible for valuable door prizes and specials at participating sponsor businesses. Children’s admission is free.

The Mahanay Bell Tower in downtown Jefferson will offer tours Friday from noon to 4 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. The $3 admission will be waived for all wearing a Red Barn Emerald Wristband; children are always free.

Red Barn customers are encouraged to come for the shopping and check out all that’s going on in Greene County. Adding to the day-trip shopping paradise, Greene County Chamber members and Red Barn sponsors have these special events scheduled:

On Friday and Saturday, Country Blessings will hold its Fall Extravaganza. The Fall Extravaganza features live music with Zach Svoboda, refreshments, drawings, prizes, and new merchandise. Country Blessings is located at 1263 Pioneer Avenue in Jefferson, just two miles east on Hwy. 30.

Deal’s Orchard, 1102 244th St, Jefferson, will host its Old Fashioned Fun Days on Saturday and Sunday, with a classic tractor parade Saturday at 11 am, a petting zoo, the corn maze and other attractions. Deal’s signature cider, hard cider and apples of many varieties,will be for sale. www.DealsOrchard.com

John 15 Vineyard Meeting & Retreat Center will host its annual open house and offer tours of the property and sales of jams, jellies and all sorts of grape goodies made on-site from grapes grown right there.
