Jeff council calls special meeting, Cobblestone on the agenda

The Jefferson city council will hold a special meeting Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 5:30 pm at city hall.

City clerk Diane Kennedy had suggested the city council hold a brief noon meeting during the week to approve hiring a candidate selected for the position of administrative assistant/payroll clerk. That position has been vacant since the relocation of Tammy Tweed earlier this summer.

The council has instead scheduled an evening meeting not only to approve the new hire and to approve fund transfers for FY 2013-14, but also to consider approval of financial incentives for Cobblestone Hotel.

BriMark Builders has an operating agreement with Wild Rose Jefferson to build and run a 71-room hotel connected to the casino. See the Aug. 27 post on GreeneCountyNewsOnline for more information.
