Greene County Medical Center’s radiology department was honored at an employee reception on Monday, Aug. 4, for having patient satisfaction scores being above the 90 percent rank for the past three consecutive quarters. Executive director of 0utpatient services Joan Overby said, “I feel extremely proud but not remotely surprised. The entire radiology team consistently demonstrates their dedication to their patients with a strong work ethic and selfless commitment.”

Patient satisfaction scores are derived from patient surveys sent out randomly through Press Ganey Associates Inc, the nation’s leader in supporting and improving the patient experience for more than 10,000 health care organizations.

The medical center views satisfaction surveys as a significant voice of the patient and takes scores and comments seriously in making adjustments or changes to services and the facility when warranted. Surveys are also used to recognize staff members for taking very good care of patients in all areas of service – registration, facility, test and treatment and overall assessment of the medical center.

According to Press Ganey patient experience advisor Anne Grill, the Greene County Medical Center radiology department is in the top 10 percent of the country for its overall rating, and the top 8 percent for the test and treatment section.

Department recognitions for reaching patient satisfaction goals will now be done on a regular quarterly basis.
