Music and ice cream at Methodist Church Sunday afternoon

The First United Methodist Church in Jefferson will host an afternoon of music followed by an ice cream social Sunday, June 29, at the church at 307 S. Wilson.

Methodist music 2The music begins at 4 pm. The women’s choir will sing, as well as a quartet composed of Jean and Don Van Gilder, Joan St Clair and Sam Harding. Sheryl Sloan (pictured, left) will play the church’s pipe organ solo, and in a duet with Delores Anderson at the piano (right).  Danille Curtis and Bonnie Orris will add piano duets.

Gary Haupert, Pastor Julie Poulsen, Jim Barnett, Kyle Roeder and Danille Curtis will contribute vocal solos, and Hannah Curtis and Josey Weaver will also sing a duet.

After the music, from 5 to 6:30 pm, all are invited to an ice cream social in the Fellowship Hall. Homemade ice cream is the headliner, with pie and cake and beefburgers in supporting roles. A free will donation will be accepted for the ice cream social.
