Yard of the Month honors to the courthouse square

Hanging basket 4The 32 hanging floral baskets around the courthouse square earned the square Yard of the Month honors for June from the Jefferson Garden Club.

The baskets are a cooperative effort of Jefferson Matters: Main Street andthe city of Jefferson. They were hung from the light poles during a cleanup day organized by Jefferson Matters: Main Street last month. Jean Walker prepared the baskets with hardy,  low maintenance plants. The city crew waters the baskets as needed.
