Bell Tower Festival parade always a favorite

The Bell Tower Festival parade is the centerpiece of Saturday activities at the Festival. This year’s parade was windy and rain fell for about five minutes late in the parade, but that didn’t deter the entertainment.

The Jefferson Rotary Club organizes the parade each year; Dr Dave Jaskey served as parade chairman.

BTF HSB floatHome State Bank won the prize for best use of the Festival theme with an easy twist: There’s no place like home became There’s no place like Home State Bank. Dorothy Gale and Toto, along with her friends rode the float, the Lollipop Guild and the Wizard walked along, and Miss Gulch was there with her bicycle.

The Fareway float was named the best commercial entry. That float also included characters from The Wizard of Oz. (GreeneCountyNewsOnline will happily post a photo…email to news@greenecountynewsonline.com)
